Aussie Rules Zimbabwe changes name to Australian Football Zimbabwe, unveils new logo and website - www.zimfooty.com
In order to best reflect ourselves as a forward thinking, easily indentified organisation, we have now changed our name from Aussie Rules Zimbawe to 'Australian Football Zimbabwe'. We feel that this name gives people an instant understanding of what we are about, which is particularly important when dealing with a market that is unfamiliar with Australian Rules Football. We also have established a brand new web presence at www.zimfooty.com, which will be taking over from this web page.
Our new logo has also been unveiled and showcases the majestic Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. The new logo also features the symbolic Zimbabwean colours of black, green, red and yellow. The creation of this logo will help in marketing Australian football to the Zimbabwean people, and ultimately to create the most beneficial outcome for Zimbabweans.
Australian Football Zimbabwe looks towards future programs in schools
In the future, Australian Football Zimbabwe will be aiming to promote Australian Football in Zimbabwe through school, children's homes and open days. Australian Football Zimbabwe (AFZ) will strive to be a positive influence within the community by working to provide children and teenagers with a very enjoyable sport that anyone can play!
Australian Football is already at an advanced stage of development and participation in South Africa, and we feel that this can be replicated in Zimbabwe, with AFZ planning placing an emphasis on community development and benefiting disadvantaged children. Everyone, regardless of their background or problems they face, will be able to participate in the AFZ programs.
